1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Shutter Square website (shuttersquare.net) and booking our photography classes, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. About Our Services

Shutter Square provides photography education services including classes, workshops, and meetups. Our classes are designed to help photographers of all skill levels improve their photography skills through hands-on learning experiences.

3. Booking and Payment

3.1 Booking Process

All bookings must be made through our website. A booking is confirmed only after successful payment processing. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful booking.

3.2 Payment

Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept major credit cards through our secure payment processor (Stripe). All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.

3.3 Pricing

Prices are as displayed on our website at the time of booking. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

4.1 Cancellation by Participant

  • More than 7 days before class: Full refund minus $10 administration fee
  • 3-7 days before class: 50% refund or credit towards future class
  • Less than 3 days before class: No refund, but you may transfer your booking to another person

4.2 Cancellation by Shutter Square

If we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another class date at no additional cost.

4.3 Rescheduling

Requests to reschedule must be made at least 48 hours before the class. Subject to availability, we will accommodate rescheduling requests at no additional charge for the first change.

5. Class Participation

5.1 Arrival

Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may not be able to participate fully, and no partial refunds will be given for late arrivals.

5.2 Equipment

Participants are responsible for bringing their own photography equipment as specified in the class description. This typically includes a camera (DSLR, mirrorless, or advanced smartphone), charged batteries, and empty memory cards.

5.3 Conduct

Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner. We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is disruptive, without refund.

6. Weather and Outdoor Classes

For outdoor photography classes, sessions will proceed in light rain. In case of severe weather (storms, extreme heat, or heavy rain), we will notify you of cancellation or rescheduling at least 2 hours before the class. Outdoor class participants should dress appropriately for weather conditions.

7. Photography and Intellectual Property

7.1 Your Photos

All photographs you take during our classes remain your intellectual property. You retain full ownership and rights to images you create.

7.2 Promotional Use

By attending our classes, you consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be included in promotional materials, please inform the instructor before the class begins.

7.3 Course Materials

All course materials, presentations, and content provided during classes are the intellectual property of Shutter Square and may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared without our written permission.

8. Liability and Risk

8.1 Assumption of Risk

Participation in photography classes, especially outdoor sessions, involves inherent risks. By booking a class, you acknowledge and accept these risks. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of your equipment.

8.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shutter Square shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your participation in our classes.

8.3 Equipment

Shutter Square is not responsible for any damage to, loss of, or theft of your personal equipment during classes. We recommend having appropriate insurance coverage for your photography gear.

9. Health and Safety

Participants should inform us of any health conditions that may affect their participation. If you feel unwell, please do not attend the class. We will work with you to reschedule or provide a refund in case of illness.

10. Gift Vouchers

  • Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase
  • Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash
  • Vouchers can be used for any class up to their value
  • If the class value exceeds the voucher, the difference must be paid at booking

11. Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
